Our team have inspected the piece intrinsically and have concluded that we do not believe it has been polished by a third party since issued new, thus is original factory finish. We have also tested on a specialist timegrapher machine for accuracy and the watch is functioning/ time keeping well as expected.

MODEL & PROVENANCE

A statement, an investment, a legend – the Rolex Daytona offers more than just a time display. This watch gets its legendary title from the most famous motor racing circuit in the United States: Daytona. Over the last few decades, Daytona has managed to enthral people both on and off the racetrack. It has developed into a true style icon that no watch enthusiast can ignore.

After its launch in 1963, the Cosmograph Daytona was overshadowed by other great Rolex watches, including the Submariner and the GMT Master. Years later, pioneers including the actor, Paul Newman, discovered the beauty of these watches and quickly kickstarted the Daytona-fervour. The prices went to enormous heights and not even the second-hand market could keep up with the increasing demand.

Ironically, the watches of the Daytona line were not equipped with Rolex calibres until the year 2000. The first references (e.g. 6239, 6240 or 6263) were endowed with the adjusted Valjoux 72. Up to the year 1988, Rolex used a modified automatic movement based on the El Primero by Zenith, including the Ref. 16520. In the year 2000 however, Rolex finally manufactured their own chronometer 4130 movement, which is housed in this piece for sale. The star of the Rolex family has been manufactured in-house ever since and guarantees flawless expertise and timeless elegance.

ONE HIGH STANDARD: Fit for me, fit for you policy

Our team is made of up of watch enthusiasts, for us working in this industry and with these timepieces is a privilege and an indulgence of a passion. As such our founder; Vinny implemented the "Fit for me, fit for you policy". This means that we are now very picky with the pieces we choose to offer to our clients and we only buy watches that would be fit for our own collections because why should we have a different or lower standard for our clients?

So what does this mean in practice? How high are our standards? You can now rest assured that when buying from Beat The Waitlist EVERY piece will meet the following enthusiast-level standards:

a) No Rolex newer 5 years old or newer we would ever offer for sale that we believe has been polished by machine.

b) No watch, whatever the age, brand or price point, we will ever offer for sale that we believe has been over polished or polished/refinished poorly. Our founder Vinny can't stand this and therefore just wont handle them. Over polished watches lose their premium aesthetic, look awful and are poor as long-term investments.

c)All watches 5 years old or newer will be provided as full set with original boxes and paperwork because there is no reason they should be missing at such age.

d)All watches 5 years old or newer will be provided with FULL FACTORY SIZE issued bracelets with all removed links provided in the set.
